The first SUN Studio Hong Kong Art Center of UV-printing and Design was opened
January 19, 2012
A grand opening of SUN Studio Art Center of UV-printing and Design took place in Hong Kong.
This big event was on Monday, January, 16th. The scene was the Art Center by itself placed in the “theme” district, Kwun Tong, where all Hong Kong printing industry is concentrated. In spite of that, there has not been any company which could have provided such services.
That’s why UV-print opportunities, and also their application in interior design have amazed even experts. Hong Kong media giants, Perspective magazine and Hinge magazine, Hong Kong and Beijing gallery owners, representatives of the leader of the China printing industry, Fei Yang Union Company, an owner of Hong Kong Residence Company, a large player on the construction market, and also representatives of municipal authorities visited the opening ceremony. Among the last – staff members of Russian consulate and representatives of the department of the government of Hong Kong which supervises the creative foreign companies, were there.
The printing on the water received the highest praises from guests. This unique feature of UV-printer made in Siberia has already become the same distinctive sign, as the letter Z for Zorro. However, everyone who is observing the printing on the water in the first time is enraptured by this process. This time, heated discussion - in keeping with the mentality of enterprising Chinese - became a true brain storm about using the printing on the water as a way of the printing of money. SUN Studio’s interior surprised the guests as much as the UV-printing. One of walls of the Art Center looked like the wall in an art gallery – huge glass panels with Siberian winter landscapes were on it. The air temperature in the day of the opening was +18 °C; and the guests were looking in amazement at snowdrifts.
And yet organizers of the event took into account the local culture aspects. The lion’s dance traditional for China became one of elements of the program. This dance is very symbolic in Hong Kong. The many-colored lion gives evil spirits a scare and attracts good luck; it is particularly important when business starts. The lion on the opening of SUN Studio performed his promising dance and even pelted the studio with cabbage leaves, as a sign of financial success.
SUN Studio’s investors and partners don't doubt Siberians will be successful in Hong Kong. After all interior design develops very dynamically here as well as everything in China, and frequently dictates trends in design for the region and even the world.
